Whee - ook...back from msia/hk and enough time off blogging. So glad its summer - time to chill, hang out - but hopefully not get too hot tho =] Hehe...everyone - have fun this summer, work hard, play hard, no regrets!!
Dent Sci exam is overrr! Almost at holidays...can almost almost feel it. Anyways, Yan showed me this vid yesterday... i love it =]
Our lg got a new blog =] link link: http://lgmirror.blogspot.com/
well, i had lg yesterday and it was interesting, as always. i always look forward to lg - the deep talks that we have...*cough cough*
Jon: "So how many kids do you want, and in what order (i.e. girl, boy, boy etc)"
Nah, Lg is always awesome. Our official game is now taboo...the enthusiasm that Kaitlyn and I show for taboo is scary :) seems like after every lg, there is always time for taboo, no matter how close we are to exams. And so, yesterday, there was the usual guys vs. girls taboo game however, this round the girls totally owned =]
Grace (to me): muscles of what expression?
Me: Facial
Grace: The front part only
Me: Face
(one point!!)
Grace: where is jason la from?
Me: Canberra
(ting! one point)
Me: Lala, po and dipsy
Adeline: Teletubbies
(one point!)
Adeline: what doesnt kristy have at her house?
Kristy: Pepper
(one point!)
Ah, the taboo words dont really restrict us at all =]
But the guys did not bad tho, they got some difficult words.
back to perio =]
These guys are awesome as: they make an entire song with just their voices (vocal play)...all the instuments are created by thier voice =] Hats off to Naturally 7!
Feel it (in the air tonight)
Back to another week in Bendigo, well, half a week...this is in fact the last week of uni. Reflecting over the year, it has been pretty good. I must say, i have no complaints. Adjusting to uni life was different and difficult at first, but with almost everyone in the course going through the same thing, i.e. the move from metropolitan to bendigo, it helps =] I thank God for giving me awesome friends for me to hang out with up here, and despite the ups and downs of uni life, assignments and all, i think we all managed to have some fun. Today, after one of the lectures, we all took photos by the upside down statue near the health science building. It really showed how much we, as a group, have grown and learnt over the year. Ah, i have to get pictures off Doey later. And, as we approach exams, i hope that everyone passes, and have awesome holidays...which Yan, we are still yet to plan.
Anyways, i was watching the ARIAs yesterday and i found it awesome how Geoffery Gurrumul Yunupingu won the award for best independent release. He is blind but yet managed to achieve such a thing, and the song he played was pretty awesome. He is an aborigine and sang this beautiful native song, mixing the guitar and voice very well. The song gave me such a sense of peacefulness, the core of music, with little modifications - utter simpleness =] Oh and btw, The Living End should have won best single - White Noise. Oh and Damo showed me this song that was created by this metal band...'apocalypso' - it was a remake of one of the classic songs: something Nhat played on the piano once....somthing to do with the mountain king lol. But it was quite nice.
And so, as some people may have known, i got a new piano/keyboard thingy - a portable grand. That and smallville practically filled up my weekend. I finished Canon in C, i am so proud of myself...considering i practically have no piano past. Ok, i do have to write in every note and yes, it takes me yonks to learn a new song, but the feeling of playing is awesome!! Still trying to reach an octave with my right hand tho, so that i can play "starlight" by muse - my left hand can reach an octave, i dunno why my right hand can't! And dad bought heaps of pringles last week and i love pringles, absolutely my fav chip/crisp - so went through about 2 cans over the weekend. i know sad, but exercise and enjoy =]
I am so glad that the flag-race was not too bad today. I didnt do too well on the other two that we have had so far, but i reckon, i studied hard over the weekend (i mean on sunday), and i hope it has paid off...so far ok =] OSCE and class 2 practical test on wed, a bit hard not to think about it seeing as it contributes to 60% of the unit :S My class 2 shouldnt be too bad, but i hope i pass the OSCE, cuz i havent attended much lectures this semester for the subject. Ok, better get back to studying now....or more smallville :)
Despite my laptop crashing and hanging (soz Damo, i mean frozen), it has been a pretty good week so far. Monday was fun in Bundoora, playing a "shining game" and this other game during lunch and during lecture. I have to confess, i quite like dental science atm, despite the big workload, its is interesting to learn how the human body works. And now my parents keep asking me why i picked dent instead of med....well, i still like the prac work of dentisty. Making others smile =] On the bus back to Bendigo, Yan and i made one of those chatterbox things with dares inside. Our victims and their respective tasks were:
Damo - pretend to conduct at the front of the bus
Angi - crawl like a cat from the back to the front of the bus
Grace - Hug the person closest to you
Lorry - ask a girl out
Anna - scream out "I'm the king of the world"
Nhat - catwalk from the back to the front of the bus
Alistair got lucky and picked the lucky number and didnt have to do anything
Yesterday Mel came to Bendigo, after a week in hong kong. And she bought everyone mushrooms and keychains. i love the mushrooms so cute!! And also more episodes of friends that Damo and I have been craving for the past week. So we decided to skip tute to watch friends. At first we werent supposed to go to the clinical prac lecture but we heard that colgate was there and the possibility of freebies =] (Nhat said that people in QLD got external hard drives and electric toothbrushes) So we rocked up late and got our showbags...toothbrushes and toothpaste (but no hard drive). Doesnt matter, i got a few electric toothbrushes, and tons of toothpaste.
Toothbrushes
Spin spin spin
Bible reading for today (from CityLife email):
Jeremiah 9:23-24. This is what the Lord says: "Don't let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord, have spoken!" NLT
I love this verse...makes you humble =]
Anyways...back to f.r.i.e.n.d.s and ice cream now "wah-puh"
Backteeth boys (of Melb Uni) perform "You have dental decay". It is hilarious, esp if you understand the dental terms lol. I must say, not a bad perfomance:
Holidays are over and i am back in Bendigo. I havent written a substantial blog in a while but that just goes to show how little time i have spent on the computer. Personally, i reckon the past few weeks have been somewhat interesting and fun. I should be studying for the caries test tomorrow but i seriously cbb... quite a frequent 'feeling' in recent days, especially when it comes to studying lol. But i have to get back into the studying swing.
Here are some updates/interesting stuff/randomities:
Isaac and Rog got baptised:
W00t. Awesome and brave move for Sacs and Rog to get water baptised. Oxygen last wednesday was practically dedicated to their, and Dean's, baptism. My lg and Anthea's lg were there in there as the "Isaac fanclub" - lol, Dan mentioned it a few times =] Isaac's came out with this huge paper for his speech but all in all, it awesome that they are perpared to take their faith one step further. Praise the Lord.
David's (Ng) B'day
Was nice to meet glenny people again. A bunch of us glenny people gave him a guitar...i think he was suprised and i think he really liked it =] And i met some of his pharm friends...interesting people. Marco came later from Manifest yay! I should have gone to manifest...heard there were a few Lulus and Suzakus lol.
Yunn's B'day
At Max Brenners. Tried a few new things...Peanut Butter choc slushie and choc pizza. Surprising both were quite good, as anything chocolate is. It was nice to see some more glenny people. Yunn's pressies were interesting. Later Tim was teaching me how to speak korean haha, i think i only remembered one phrase from it...."Hana hago" - meaning "and this one" lol. Later Gerard and Yunn waited with me for Damo to pass me my retainer. Thanks guys =]
Ally's 20th
W00t. i reckon us dent ppl (+ a few pharm and OH) were totally blown away at how much fun we had at Ally's place. The trip down to Warragul was totally worth it. Ki got drunk, and Damo & Alistair were tipsy, but over all, no casualties. Had fun dancing, eating, taking photos, karaoke. Learnt how to rave, altho i realised that the Tai Chi thingy that Mel taught me was so similar to raving already.
Friends marathon
Thurs night before we left for holidays, Doey, Damo, Mel and I had a super f.r.i.e.n.d.s marathon, altho we ran out of episodes to watch and ended up mucking around and rewatching episodes again. As a few people know already, im totally into friends atm and currently wishing Mel would hurry up and get back from HK so that i can continue watching friends lol. Damo and I are busy quoting friends now haha. p.s. Mel is really strong ... well, she is Monicow rofl.
Running track
Week before holidays...after running at the uni tracks with Nhat, Doey, Damo, Mel and Yan, we decided to lay on the track and watch the stars. It ended up being a personal attack on me and Damo. My shoes were tied to his for a very long time whilst they attacked lol! then we got locked in the tracks area by them and we tried climbing the fence. Joy run turned bad ...
Spring time
Yan and i are suddenly obsessed with flowers. Picked a few on the way to uni and tried to press some. This reminds me, i have to locate my pressed flower. There is this nice patch of yellow flowers that i pass on train ride to and from Dingo. Yan calls it "yellow flower land" =] Dad's orchids are blossoming very nicely.
Oxygen Ball
Yay! Had a good time at a pretty nice place. However the only thing was that there was no "sit down" dinner type thing but there was a huge chair. Janice really loved it XD. The dance floor was a bit small but there were interesting things at Red Scooter, including a red scooter, huge champange glasses and a zebra stripe chair. I was surprised that Matthew Lau didnt recognise me haha. But everyone looked very nice, esp Isaac's mini-fat tie and Tim's very cool shirt.
ok ok, back to watching my movie....
Here an awesome song
A remix of the song "Amazing Grace" but still true and awesome nevertheless!!
God Bless =]
Wakawaka, i spent a total of 8 hours in church today. I think that is a new record...and along with that record, there was some serious God working in my life today. The words spoken to me have really impacted me, i feel way more motivated in my Christian life as well as in my personal life. I must say, i really enjoyed the entire day, spent in God's house, just being in church is awesome!!
Lifetracks:
......and i finally finished track 1. Haha, seem so late, should have started long time ago, but i do feel that it came at the right time. Cuz, Dan Lian once said that it is during the uni years where Christians drop out, and i believe that track one, being the basics for living a Christian life, really helped me to set foundations that will enable me to survive. They are the true foundations of a Christian life - essential knowledge for every Christian out there. There were also some points that was mentioned that was super relevant and now im equipped with awesome scriptures to fight the enemy and draw close to God. w00t!!. Also, it was awesome that our entire lifegroup was there - all deciding to take the step and all sitting in one row (well, most of us). Overall, a sweet morning, topped off with subway for lunch =]
ROAR kids:
I dont know why, but this service was different from the rest, it stood out. In praise and worship i was having as much fun as the kids and during game time, a girl next to me was super nice to talk to, she had many cool opinions =]. Also, during free play time, i was with a group of high school musical (HSM) fans, wheee..... i had lots to discuss with them haha. We talked about the relevant issues in HSM and why they thought it was such a good movie. I found that they really look up to the cast of HSM and that got me thinking how easily children can be influenced by stars in the media and how the actions of the stars easily impact on the kids' lives. Nevertheless, i had as much fun discussing HSM as they did =]. During c-group time, we had 3 different sheets for the kids to fill out, a "dear God" card (for anything they want to tell God), a "prayer request card" as well as a "thank you God" card. I read their responses on the card...and they were seriously touching. Some said thank you that God was always with them, able to help them during the lunch break and one also thanked God for the warm weather. I was awesome to see that they were thanking God for all the little things, and to see such passion in their hearts is super cool =]
2nd service
Met Adeline and Kristy in the bookshop, then met Eunice. We had a super good chat, and doing about 10 laps of the "street". We havent had a long chat in ages!! We then got ushered to the second row from the front of the auditorium, and i must say, the worship is much better there. i dont know why, but that was one awesome worship. The message too, was relevant and interesting.
Just went out for bball with bro, and now im here procrastinating studying for the test on mon. XD
edit:// i also complain to people about the lack of dentists and doctors in rural areas =]
Btw currently loving "I'm alive" by Celine Dion. Such a jumpy song =]
Rural health essay calling...must go! lol xD
Yesterday = eventful day, and it started during oral health lecture...
- during lecture: tied Mel's shoes to each other and to the table
- had heaps of troubles organising transport to and from city/dance class
- sat on the floor (of passenger seat) of Henry's car whilst Yan sat cross legged above me
and Amanda sat on the floor behind Henry's driver seat
- strange hip hop class
- once again on floor of Henry's car to the city
- had nando's for dinner
- bought ice cream at coles
- walked back to the halls with the gang, playing poke poke games all the way
- realised i lost my phone...called my phone, random guy picked it up,
and Yan/Ken/Harri went to pick it up
- watched 'rush' on tv
- went to ken's room to talk talk talk, until about 2am
- watched drama until about 3:30am.
Currently regretting not doing any work right last night. Bah, better get back to rural health =]
Would you believe me if I said
That we are the ones who can make the change
in the world today
Would you believe me if I said
that all of the dreams in your heart
can come true.....today...
would you believe me if I said
that life could be all that you want it to be
...today...
and if I had wings I would fly
'cause all that I need You are
and if the world caved in around me
to You I'd still hold on 'cause
Your all that I believe
and the one that created me
Jesus.... because of You I'm Free
Would you belive me if I said
that God can make miracles happen today
would you believe me if I said
that you don't need to
wait for the answer before
you step out in faith
would you believe me if I said
that nothin is ever impossible.. for God
Just live your life with God inside
you won't regret one moment of it
and give all that you can for God... for God
Ah mass procrastination atm ... exam tmr argh!!
Updates:
Christian Walk...a tad behind. Need to make a mental point to converse more with God and realise that i need to give Him FULL control...not partial control, not control when i need controlling, full control of my life. We've been studying a "Pray BIG" book at LG. I must say, it has really opened up my eyes to the meaning of prayer, and even tho, we have only just started, i love how the book allows for people to share their ideas. So far we have to learnt to Pray BIG, Pray about small thing, and Pray specific. I love my LG!! Note: need to contact Cameron to arrange transport. Argh, i still a tad disappointed that im not in Melb, could have done sooo much....but i know that God has me here in Dingo for a purpose >> i pray that no matter where i am, i can be a shining light =].
Drama...fated to love you ended about 2 wks ago (completely miss it!!). Good story, AC characters -- that awww feeling w00t. Also, totally binged watch "the seventh day", a honkie drama that aired in march. Pretty good drama (actually i got a bit bored when they went to the main characters, i thought that the supporting couple was waaaay funnier and watchable). Bitter/sweet ending tho. My no. 1 rule when watching dramas >> wait for it...let it finish airing!!! I didnt follow that when watching fated to love you i suffered badly! lol
Uni...waay behind with studying and assignments. Have to study a bit more and watch less dramas. I must say, i trying hard to survive this semester, mostly cuz i didnt like my grade for clinical prac. owell, must try harder, let the pass disappear and look forward - nothing is impossible! Funnily, i've been pretty happy lately...i dunno why. Maybe cuz im letting go of heaps of things (giving them to God) >> live life to the max. I've developed a couple of goals and at the risk of not achieving them....im gonna write them down:
1. Go on a missions trip by the end of next year
2. Lead/intern a lifegroup by next year
3. 4A's for end of year exams
4. Finish learning to play canon rock by the end of the year
5. Save up for a piano =]
Very big goals...sigh...owell, something to aim for. Aim big and if i fall short, at least i tried.
Need to get back to study or else one of the goal is not gonna be achieved lol.
Fav time (past 2 week):
Soccer/bball at WCC gym with 4 other LGs
Skiing at Mt Baw Baw
CG madness
Family chill time
Running like little kids, playing tiggy, cops and robbers, octopus, what's the time mr wolf at the park at 12am.
Prayer points for the rest of the week:
Bible lesson at kids church (im very anxious)
Work on saturday
Pray BIG
Exam on friday
This made me bawl...
Loving this song...
Wanna go here...
Uni memories...
Comic of the week...
ok..really have to sleep now..big study day tmr!!!Holiday blog...long overdue...created ages ago >> http://a-fireproof-life.blogspot.com/2008/07/holz-fun-semester-break-08.html
Today = free day. Hence today i didnt do much.
Actually i did some rural health this morning, which btw is super boring. But, owell, i did chose the course in a rural area so i can't help it.
Here's a quote i found randomly today on some malaysian food website (stumbled on it on purpose...or under favourites...you'll never know):
"Sarawakians are damn proud to be Sarawakians. No kidding. They get manic about their roots. When one Sarawakian meets another in a place other than Sarawak, they start going on and on in their own Bahasa Sarawak, much to the annoyance of non-Sarawakians. Patriotic, maybe. Maniacal, definitely."
Love it. Sawarkians love their home place... the kolok mee muhahaha. Well, just a little bit on Sarawak: its in east Malaysia (no comment) and some major cities and town include Kuching (capital city), Sibu and Miri. No, its not as developed as KL but i love my home town, Kuching. No, there are no trains and yes, you can get to the city in less than 10 mins. But the places to shop and eat make me feel at home.
Haha, moving on. Sam was asking about the "Proper toothbrushing techniques" video that i mentioned in LG. Here it is. Mind the lameness haha:
Fated to love you
We had a health science ball last week, which was not bad. The DJ wasnt that good (the final song rocked tho - Everybody by Backstreet boys :: Kaitlyn/Jenn> Hats off to the backstreet boys LOL). I got a cute little snowglobe with my name in it hehe. Facebook has heaps of photos so hop on there for more pics. Thanks Fee for the dress, loved it. Also, thanks to my housemate Bree for doing my hair :P
Haha, there maybe a combined dentistry ball with Melb uni soon...hmm i wonder how that's gonna turn out *claws come out*. Nah joking! Would be interesting and it'll be in Melb w00t.
One funny thing i randomly pondered on todai. When u talk to people on msn, there is usually a subject that you seem to always talk about. hmmm i wonder....
Aiya. Have so many things to do now: 1. Track down Yuin to get a new cube 2. find the working with children form to submit 3. find something black and white to wear on sat 4. get photoshop off Damo so that i can start colouring
Har, lah, so better finish off rural health and submit it. Oh, and happi birthday Sinwa =]
Okies, Dave Ng tagged me so here i go....sigh...
Rules:1. The rules of the game get posted at the beginning.2. Each player answers the questions about themselves.3. At the end of the post the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves a comment, letting them know they got tagged and to ask them to play and read your blog.

How I love weekends: relaxing and some what busy at the same time. My weekend started when we finished prac class on friday afternoon. Us Melbournians (including Mel who was born in melbourne on the 13/March) took the train back. Most of my train ride was spent transfering photos cuz Damian's usb kept stuffing up my computer! Baka! lol. When we got on the 737 bus, i was super sure that i saw Jenn, whoops, i mean Kaitlyn, leaving the bus but then i thought...she lives near me so why would she get off. Later i realised that she has a "lazy" and "not lazy" bus. The mitcham takes her right to her house whereas the croydon takes her to outside CityLife, then she has to walk in.
Well, LG was on that nite. It was a very intersting LG, the discussion was priceless - the different views and experiences that change and shape out views on Christianity. A few visitors came (Phil, Denooka and Kala) that provided interesting insight into the different opinions of non-Christians. All in all, it was an eye opener. Also, i lead praise and worship...it was scary but i had Jon's takashima (or something like that) guitar lol. Later we met Sam's younger (yes, younger...Grace) brother Gab who asked for world vision donations. And best of all...lovely wedges that Sam's mum made :P.
So Sat morning was spent working. And then met up with Yan, Amanda, Damian and Mel in the city. Since Yan was in melbourne for the weekend, we all met up in the city for a bit of fun...more like for a lot of food. All we did was ate ate and ate. Ichiban crepes were very nice > love the mango and ice-cream combo. Although mine kinda gave way at the end. We also ended up taking sticker photos. We were super noob and so didnt know what to do...but we kinda got it in the end. Trains on the glenny line wernt working that day so the bus ride back was long and cold. But Damo and i saw this one woman that got really angry at the connex people for making her take the bus haha.
On the 737, i met Kaitlyn coming back from uni. We had a fun chat, you know the girly stuff haha. I missed almost all of the second service but had a chance to catch up with Joseph Choong and had a super long talk with Isaac (mostly cuz parent we chatting away).
Sat night > went out for dinner with family, had heaps of fun chatting and then watched resident evil 1 at home. I thought that i was gonna be scared but then right after i watched drama so totally lost the scared feeling hahaha.
Sunday was spent relaxing and doing some household chores. Went out with bro to eata super huge lunch!! lol also dragged him to go shopping with me hehe. Sunday night: watched resident evil 2 and 3. Wha!
And so i woke up late today, missed the 4:59am train (yes, i travel that early). and just, by a bare 2 secs, caught the 5:29am train. Ran all the way to platform 7A at southern cross to get on the Bendigo train. sigh...early morning adrenaline rush. Watched dramas on the train haha. And now i just finished lecture and am going to prac class soon.
Rach out for now :P
My holidays
Ah that was a nice break. One month of holidays and im loving the no homework, no study feeling. I actually quite like working for a bit, it makes life more interesting, not that it isn't interesting already. And so, here i am in Bendigo again, and have covered 3 episodes of Fated to Love You, 2 movies (Blades of Glory; The Ruins) and countless YouTube Videos >> this was all in the past 9 hours >> sigh, maybe i should actually review what I did today in the Cells lecture...considering my lack of biology knowledge.
Well, before i get started posting other things, I just want to take time to commit the new semester to the Lord and ask Him for His guidance and wisdom as the semester progresses. However, I was thinking just recently, about my current situation in Bendigo. Yes, praise the Lord, I actually survived one semester out here in the sub-wilderness (yes, it is sub-wilderness because there is water around lol). I was afraid of the change even though i always loved challenges...it was slightly difficult to adjust but now that i look back, God has been guiding me throughout the entire time. Am currently chatting to Grace, what a funny coincidence cuz i was just about to write about her.
What i have realised is that God has planned this from far back. Grace and i weren't that close in yr 11, like for sure, i knew her but it was only in yr 12 that we actually became good friends, part of the fact because we both moved to Wantirna South. During bus trips we used to chat about how we would join lifetrax together, go on a missions trip, join the creative arts ministry, somewhat planning our lives after high school. We both wanted to do dentistry yeah we both got what we wanted despite being out here in Bendigo.
Now i realise how God has used Grace to guide me and help me here in Bendigo. He allowed both of us to become good friends in high school and chucked us in the exact same groups here in Bendigo...we have exactly the same timetables, both in this semester and last semester. I mean think about it, it's not everyday that two friends from the same high school, that take the same bus, the go to the same church, that live almost in the same place, that have the same career dream, that both go to the same university and both in the same groups throughout the entire year. Also, i think that despite having Grace here to help me, God has put us in different living environments >>> allowing us to have maximum impact in our surroundings.
So yeah, just to cap it all off. I want to thank God for a very very great and awesome friend like Grace. She has really been my pillar and security here in Bendigo, always a shoulder to lean on, always an open listener and a great pal to study with :P. She's been really awesome and i pray that God will continue to guide her and bless her abundantly. Finally, thank you God for keeping me safe and healthy.
So, now im totally high on caffiene (i think that's how u spell it). Hence im gonna reflect on the things in the past month or so that totally made life worth living, the friendships formed, the experiences encounted and the jokes that will brighten up anyone's day.
