A Fireproof Life

Living a FIREPROOF life for the everlasting, almighty GOD of the UNIVERSE

Back to another week in Bendigo, well, half a week...this is in fact the last week of uni. Reflecting over the year, it has been pretty good. I must say, i have no complaints. Adjusting to uni life was different and difficult at first, but with almost everyone in the course going through the same thing, i.e. the move from metropolitan to bendigo, it helps =] I thank God for giving me awesome friends for me to hang out with up here, and despite the ups and downs of uni life, assignments and all, i think we all managed to have some fun. Today, after one of the lectures, we all took photos by the upside down statue near the health science building. It really showed how much we, as a group, have grown and learnt over the year. Ah, i have to get pictures off Doey later. And, as we approach exams, i hope that everyone passes, and have awesome holidays...which Yan, we are still yet to plan.

Anyways, i was watching the ARIAs yesterday and i found it awesome how Geoffery Gurrumul Yunupingu won the award for best independent release. He is blind but yet managed to achieve such a thing, and the song he played was pretty awesome. He is an aborigine and sang this beautiful native song, mixing the guitar and voice very well. The song gave me such a sense of peacefulness, the core of music, with little modifications - utter simpleness =] Oh and btw, The Living End should have won best single - White Noise. Oh and Damo showed me this song that was created by this metal band...'apocalypso' - it was a remake of one of the classic songs: something Nhat played on the piano once....somthing to do with the mountain king lol. But it was quite nice.

And so, as some people may have known, i got a new piano/keyboard thingy - a portable grand. That and smallville practically filled up my weekend. I finished Canon in C, i am so proud of myself...considering i practically have no piano past. Ok, i do have to write in every note and yes, it takes me yonks to learn a new song, but the feeling of playing is awesome!! Still trying to reach an octave with my right hand tho, so that i can play "starlight" by muse - my left hand can reach an octave, i dunno why my right hand can't! And dad bought heaps of pringles last week and i love pringles, absolutely my fav chip/crisp - so went through about 2 cans over the weekend. i know sad, but exercise and enjoy =]

I am so glad that the flag-race was not too bad today. I didnt do too well on the other two that we have had so far, but i reckon, i studied hard over the weekend (i mean on sunday), and i hope it has paid off...so far ok =] OSCE and class 2 practical test on wed, a bit hard not to think about it seeing as it contributes to 60% of the unit :S My class 2 shouldnt be too bad, but i hope i pass the OSCE, cuz i havent attended much lectures this semester for the subject. Ok, better get back to studying now....or more smallville :)
