A Fireproof Life

Living a FIREPROOF life for the everlasting, almighty GOD of the UNIVERSE

Okay so...yes...Damian got everyone into Dango. I reckon if Damo ruled the would, the national anthem would be Dango and there would be life-sized dangos everywhere. Dango = sweet dumpling, from the ending of Jap anime Clannad. Here is the video off youTube:

And so, despite needing to study for psych exam, Damo and i started drawing Dango pictures using the handwriting facility in msn messenger, after a while, here's what we produced:

Lol...have fun guessing who drew what....hehe....

Currently in dire need:

- Blog update
- Dough/Cash/Money/Ka-ching
- a pager that keep reminding me not to stop eating lollies
- a faster internet
- Insight

Ok...the new Planetshakers album is playing on my computer now!!! Its awesome...especially since i was there when they recorded it ... much more significance XD.

Cuz it was all for LOVE. w00t - currently super happy :)

All for love our saviour came
Gave His life and took my place
And now I live for you, and all we do
Will bring you praise, bring You praise

Chorus:
Whoa, I'm living for Your glory
Whoa, cause you died to set me free
And the love that You gave when you took my place for all the world to see

(Intro)
You gave everything, You gave everything, and it was all for love!

Bridge:
I was lost and You saved me,
I was blind and You made me see
I was broken and You healed me, and now I'm free

I look up vermilion border on the net and here's what came up:

vermilion border
The red margin of the upper and lower lip that commences at the exterior edge of the intraoral labial mucosa ("moist line") and extends outward, terminating at the extraoral labial cutaneous junction; a thinly keratinised type of stratified squamous epithelium deeply penetrated by well-vascularised dermal papillae which show through the translucent epidermis to impart the typical red appearance of the lips.

More than half the words need to be looked up in the dictionary o.O

And so, the 5 day weekend came and went...but another one is gonna come by >> tmr in fact =] I get to go to oxygen yay!!

Met up with Yunn on Thurs to visit GWSC. Also met Isaac and Fee at the station and later Tess, so Isaac decided to follw us. Ended up seeing Mr Penso, Mr Walsh and Mr Nguyen haha. Talked with Nguyen for very long ~ and also got the yr 12 dvd >> awesome memories of high school man!! A trip to sweet as was also made...lollies!!!

Of the 6 yrs at GWSC, they didnt think of refurbishing the toilets...now after im gone > its actually presentable!!

Glenny!!!

Also on Thurs night, i went to Anthea's lifegroup. It was nice catching up with the regulars as well as meeting some new faces a.k.a. Jason and Jenn. It was nice to pray and talk about Erwin McMannus's message...of which i missed ><. We also split into prayer groups and had a nice game of mafia after XD.

Friday nite: Adeline, Kristy, Sam and Isaac came over for LG. After an ice breaker >> provided by Isaac's glowsticks haha, we went straight into discussion, even forgetting to open the food. Our discussion was fruitful, i reckon, as we talked about the works that God wanted us to achieve, a bit on the end days and did some searching into our own lives as we revealed and discussed our purposes. Well, Kristy and Adeline had to leave early, but Sam and Isaac stayed. We ended up taking pics of Isaac in glowsticks and just general chatting. Overall, a great night.

Sam and Isaac

Isaac lolz

Sat: Kid's Church :) I was a little nervous, as always, up there doing praise and worship but whenever i look into the kids, the leaders were smiling and that relieved my nervousness a bit. But still, i love it when the kids go crazy for God XD. I shud get the dvd to practice....

Sun: Went out for lunch with family and ate chicken rice.

Overall, the weekend was a good balance of work and fun. Can't wait till the exams...as they pass quickly and then HOLZ!!

We need each other - Sanctus Real

A beautiful song talking about our need for friends and how we need each other. For yourself, it shows how we are cared for by friends and how much we rely on friends. Also, it is a challenge: to be a FRIEND XD.

I think I caught a glimpse of
Life without friends
Bitter, empty, hollow, dark and lonely
We never meant to hurt each other
So can’t we trust again
And take it as a chance
To keep on growing

I don’t know why it doesn’t come easy
But I know that we could be happy
If we’d only learn to love

Oh oh we need each other
So what’s the fighting for
Oh oh we need each other
Please don’t close the door
Oh oh we need each other
Through all the highs and lows
Oh oh we need each other
Cuz no one’s meant to live alone

Life revolves around the need
Of having someone
Causing every complicated feeling
Oh and I don’t want to loose you
And there is nothing wrong with
Telling me what you need
To keep our love strong

It’s just a part of being a family
Taking the good with the bad and the ugly
If we could only learn to love

Oh oh we need each other
So what’s the fighting for
Oh oh we need each other
Please don’t close the door
Oh oh we need each other
Through all the highs and lows
Oh oh we need each other
Cuz I don’t want to be alone

Oh Oh we need each other
Fathers and Mothers
Oh oh we need each other
All your sisters and brothers
Oh oh we need each other
We need friends and lovers
Oh Oh we need each other

Well I need you
You need me

Cuz that’s the way
It’s meant to be
I need you
We need each other
(I don’t want to be alone)
(x2)

On top of that, its an awesome song...by Santus Real ~ a sincere band with positive lyrics and awesome riffs =]

Ah so...the procrastination spot. Hehe. Perks of Bendigo life during the short week:

- playing Stay with Me on guitar while Yan sings

- rocking out to Chiisana koi no uta

- loving the growth of GREEN grass

- laughing during Peter Wilson's lecture ("the copper....um... thing" lawl)

- everyone playing the electric keyboards all at once

- playing tangles and asking people to jump through extremely tiny holes

- watching people's reaction when they walk past our tangled mess

- getting addicted to Starlight by Muse

- watching the dango video soo many times ~ even tho Damo had seen it heaps of times

- watching Clannad on the train and all its exaggerated bit ~ i.e. 973 hit + COMBO!!

- Damo thinking that Ken screamed when he jumped down

Rocket Trails over Arizona

note to self:
if fail as dentist become a professional photographer

more optimistic note to self: be a photographer whether or not i pass dentistry XD

Well...i am currently procrastinating. Just came back from oral health lecture. So, i spent the weekend in Bendigo. So most of saturday was spent watching taiyou no uta, a jap drama Yan recomended ~ very nice drama. It incorporates music and guitar into its romantic storyline - a perfect fit for a romcom and music fan like myself. And yes...in the end i did cry and secretly hoping Mel wouldnt turn around to see me bawling lol. The drama was inspirational but kinda bought up some issues that I discussed with Mel. For example the question: would you give up your life to pursue your dreams? There are pros and cons for both arguments ~ i hope i am never stuck with that dilemma. But it was a nice story despite the sad ending. Well, Yan and I are currently loving the songs in that drama and trying to play and sing it XD.

Dinner on saturday night was yummy. It was interesting trying new dishes and i love the simpleness (if that is evena word) when we sat on the floor and ate and talked =] Another enjoyable part was following the heater around as we attempted to warm up or feets. That night was spent youtubing...a lot of youtubing.

Woke up late on sunday morning. Watched 2 episodes of one of the best tv series ~ Jericho!! All my tv shows always gets axed, im always in the minority lol. Nevertheless, Jericho is an awesome show XD. Later, i went to orde house to visit Ki and Grace. The orde house people are very nice and tight-knitted. I loved it how they spent that afternoon sitting around in the backyard playing with the frisbee and just talking with one another. I thought it was a very nice group activity that strenghtened the bonds of all the housemates there. So i hanged out with them, trying to chuck the frisbee properly, piggybacking Grace and getting "gerlick" (hokkien for ticklish/itchy) by Grace's scarf. Later Ki painted my nails bright pink...i hardly, more like never paint my nails so it was an interesting new change for me lol. I'm still slightly scared by the pink nails, but i guess there is no harm to try new things.

Dinner last night was soup and bread and crackers with dip ~ yum :) After dinner we watched P.S I love you >>> it wasnt that good, a bit boring >> us three kinda slept a little...the massive amount of snacks that we had prob kept us awake for the rest of the time hehe. After that we took photos with Ki's and my laptop as we danced to hip hop songs blasting from our computers hehe. I must say, inside all of us there is an inner dancing person lol. Other activities included playing pool and crowding around William (an ex-orde house resident's baby) ~ Aww sooo cutie. For the rest of the night, me and Grace were singing along to Hillsong and Hillsong Kids songs and loving every moment of our heart to heart talk. Its been ages since i talked with Grace about everything ~ thanks soo much for being an awesome friend s2 u heaps. At midnight we got hungry so Grace and I cooked noodles. And I didnt know u can "tahan" noodles lol. More talking followed and when we got sleepy we decided to have a prayer ~ and whao....awesome man >> the power of 2 people praying!! Kept trying to sleep but kept talking until very late.

Well, its monday now...i think i should go back to study ~

I finally got the uploading thingy to work...here's the pictures from the last post

Outside the Gym

How awesome are the colours of the trees

Group shot XD

And so...today is Saturday and im in Bendigo ~ this is a strange feeling cuz i would normally be in Melb at this time maybe jamming with my bro or eating (wha ~ hungry now XP). And so when i open the computer this morning i went to read the verse that Ng gave to me:

Love is patient, love is kind. it never envies, it never boasts, it is never proud. it is never rude, it is never self seeking, it is slow to anger; it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It aways protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 Corinthians 13;4-7

Its an awesome verse to read to start your day >>> sets the direction of the day XD

So, i decided to stay in Bendigo for the weekend, the first time i have done that since the first aid course. Yesterday was a pretty interesting day >> Morning was spent watching drama then prac class in the afternoon (sigh...moulding teeth with wax is hard). After prac sth happened with Grace but i was glad that we could get some feelings out and discuss about our being in Bendigo. I will keep it at that but I was glad that she's here in Bendigo with me esp after being close friends last year =]

So Grace came to my place and, along with Yan and Mel, we baked choc cookies and orange and poppyseed cake. It was fun, especially since we didnt have many utensils and our cookies were so not round. Also we decided to have pizza for lunch seeing as we were taking ages to bake the cookies and cake. I kinda kept the operator on the phone for too long >> couldnt remember my address (had to run outside to get my house number lol). So after watching Pride and Prejudice for a while, we ended up chatting about uni life. Walking Grace back to orde house was pretty ok, the bushland was scary but we all linked arms and charged thru it!! Also we took photos of the uni at night. They were very nice actually, esp in night mode on my camera...the colours and lights were beautiful =]

At orde house, we ended up taking photos on Ki's laptop as well as meeting orde and housie, Ki's fishies. The walk back was a combo of walking and running lol. That night was spent playing guitar, singing along awesome jap songs and talking. Yan slept at about 1am and Mel and I stayed up playing games and facebooking until about 3:30am. And now here I am...at about 12:17pm wondering how come i slept sooo long last night. Its a rare occasion that I sleep until 11:30pm >> have this feeling i wouldnt be able to sleep 2night ~ too much energy.

So, i shall leave with some pictures from last night:
okies i cant seem to upload pictures so no pictures>>> go to my windows live spaces to view the pictures when i put them up later (http://raesim.spaces.live.com/)

Well...im gonna watch more drama now ~

edit// we had pizza for dinner // walk back was combo of walking, running and skipping (thanks Yan XD)

So I got tagged by Grace…and I am so into procrastinating mode now so I’m gonna do this. Here we go:

Instructions: Remove 1 question from below, add in your personal question, making it a total of 20 questions. Then, tag 8 people in your list, list them all out at the end of this post. Notify them in their chatboxes that he/she has been tagged.

1. At what age do you wish to marry?

Sure it is needed to meet your daily needs but beyond that, happiness and joy is found in P&W-ing God, times spent with family and friends. You can’t trade that with anything else money can buy. 9. If you meet someone that you love, would you confess to him/her?
- I would confess eventually but definitely have to think about it. Ask God for advice and help. But if it’s the right time, well yeah.

10. List out 3 good points of the person who tagged you.
- for always being there with me, literally – we have done so many things and been thru life together. I enjoy our bus rides and talking about Lifetrack, church ministry etc. Being there for me always :)
- Grace is so persistent and enduring. No matter what happens in life, she get through it and comes out stronger. By faith she trusts in God, relying on Him totally and that’s awesome!!

Wha~ that took longer than expected

Ah man....so i'm just listening to Mel practicing notes on my electric at the momomt...she seems to love the intro of chasing cars :) So i guess i'll take this time to reflect/summarise the events of the past week:

Overall the week has been good...slightly stressful cuz of the psych assignment (very tiring and boring). As i've probably mentioned, psych is the most boring of my subjects...maybe its the boring lecturers or how it can's seem to apply to my life but anyways, i always procrastinate when i try to do psych, i dunno why...it messes with my mind lol. I think its more of the fact that there are no straight answers that you can research. It seems like i have been programmed that way, i don't like subjects that i can't research or read about the answers, you know, like the open ended subjects...i prefer to stick to the facts lol. Well, Mel and I actually stayed up all night on wednesday to do the psych, however, it was mostly mucking around with a bit of psych. Well, Mel's been at my place for much of last week cuz of psych and stuff but we have done some strange things. For example: riding a bike at 12am down the street and eating cup noodles on the street at 2am whilst we walk to Melissa's house. lol

Talking about food, it seems im eating more and more junk nowadays - a lot of cookies, lollies, cake etc. Less running and more eating - not really a good equation for a healthy body but i try to play table tennis a lot (as if that will work up a sweat!!). Well for dinner, i have been confined to chicken schnitzel, a bit of vege, green peas, luncheon and rice. Except for the time i went to Mel's place to cook pasta (and learning all the names of the pasta - ravioli, linguini etc). We had the penne type and it was quite nice with brocolli and chicken inside lol.

In terms of work, almost all the dent gang has caught up with the work cuz of the oral health test and recent dental science assignment, which required us to actually read up and study the slides that were presented. However, the majority are still behind (including me) the actual work load expected of us. Prac classes have been fun once again ~ this week pracs have had a bit of a twist i reckon. During clinical prac we had a surprise assessment that on PPE and hand-washing techniques...luckily i had Doey with me or else i would have not done too well on Colleen's questions but at least we passed with full marks!! Also, whilst waiting for Yan and Anji to do their assessment, a bunch of us, namely Doey, Nhat, Damian, Radika and I did a movie that showed people how to "properly" brush their teeth (http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=17746522663). It was awesome fun especially Damian that kept rolling around in the back ground. Then friday's prac class was spent carving a model tooth out of wax. At first it was i was a tad lost but then after a while u get the hang of it. My carving, actually it was Kyle's (out lecturer) handiwork, came out pretty good and i felt proud. =]

Friday night i went to lifegroup. Two words...awesome discussion: i loved the way our LG is so in depth and exploratory (hm is that a word?). We discussed Greed, one of the 7 deadly sins and its effect on our lives. We concluded that is ruins other people's lives as well as having control over yours. Furthermore, it can lead to dishonest gain, such as stealing money from the bank to get attend to your greed. We also pigged out on junk food and played a bit of basketball, hoops and stuff. It was Grace's and my first actual LG discussion and it was nice to drink hot milo (thanks to Kristy) and hang out with our LG. Also, church on sat was nice. The worship was powerful and as i said to many people, church is like my battery charger that fuels me throughtout my week in Bendigo. It was just so good to praise God and soak in his presence =]

Yesterday was mother's day...I took mum out for a movie: "what happens in vegas" which was surprisingly quite entertaining. Despite the cliched storyline, i loved it. It was just nice to spend time with my mum who i love sooo much and to be able to thank her for making me the way i am (not the way i are...such bad grammar lol) today. And also that night, Mel came over to sleep and we went with Sam, Michael, Isaac, Josh and Andrew to watch Ironman. It was a good movie, not as good as transformers but not too bad.

So here i am now. I think i should wake Mel up...or maybe not.

- Bringing luggage to oral health lecture

- Hiding at the library all night (Halls people - to escape "Shi Bang") and getting hardly any work done

- Melissa getting attacked by a fly

- Walking back from maccas in a very drunk manner (despite having only half a cup of fanta)

- Blasting "The way i are" from my phone all the way down Keck street and singing loudly

- Playing with Damian's foxit reader thingy - drawing random red lines all over his computer

- Nhat naming is computer "the Juicer" - as in opposition to Damian's Tomato

- Me and Yan waiting for people to finish chess >> its almost midnight and they are still going...

- Midnight bike ride with Melissa

- Building Mel's table and then forgetting to put in a piece

- "secret" dancing at the Dent Party

- learning the 'soldiers' dance from Nhat

- Requesting for "the way i are" to be played many times

- Heating up the dance floor with "the way i are"

- "the way i are" craze

- chucking MnM's at other people - namely Mel

- Visiting Grace at Orde House

- Almost midnight laughs at Hall's computer room with Damian and Mel

Rangoli’s “Where’s Wally bad guy T-shirt” on mon train ride

Annoying Adren to death when he was trying to draw on the train

Me and Mel stranded in taxi cab while the driver talked to a very pestering lady that wanted insurance details. Apparently, the cab backed into her car, causing a scratch (evidently not visible to the naked eye tho) on her car.

Mel’s move – Ken (mel’s bro) came to Bendigo to help with the move. After a short stop at strath village (which we departed with Yan cuz of her doctor’s appointment), we went around Bendigo city finding Mel’s new home stuff (I ended up watching iRobot at the good guys and laughing myself to death while Mel kept getting prompted to try random beds at forty-winks).
Build mel’s bed from scratch ~ WOOT. We made a few incorrect placement of bed poles but got it in the end yay~ girl power! Surprisingly a lot of effort involved lol.

Lao Shi Nhat teaching us the ways of local anaesthetic movement around the body haha. Heaps of thanks to Nhat for helping me understand the lecture notes, Doey too. I ate heaps while listening to Nhat talk, maybe the food helped.

Nhat teaching us how to say Nguyen the Viet way…laughed to death when he said it in a strange accent to us.

Mel, Yan and I have a current obsession with muffins (not the bake ones but the maccas type). At halls there is everything needed (except bacon) for the perfect grilled muffin with extra cheese ~ yum! Henry actually almost thought mine was from maccas hehe.

Strangest and funniest convo between David Trinh, Mel and myself about self-cleaning pants and evaporating poo ~

Damian’s arm getting stuck between the bed and wall – it was extremely funny, a bit evil but all was well at the end. We filmed a bit of his struggles but then again, as Michael ‘the man’ Pang always says, what doesn’t kill you make you stronger =]

Me, Damian and Mel were laughing like crazy at this site I found when looking for synonyms for psych assessment. I have never laughed so much in my life ~ extremely funny

Playing with rubber dams in clinical prac with Yan >>> ahhh, the many uses of rubber dams and the endless hours of fun and laughter it brings.

Rolling on prac chairs like we’re stuck to it…never getting off and visiting random people while they’re drilling.

Strangely Ken, Damian and Nhat kept laughing behind us in Public health lecture – and me and Yan passing random notes to them in strange languages. Also, Yan writing random Jap phrases that made me laughed a lot. And the lecturer’s funny phrase the only me and Yan know the ‘secret’ meaning to haha.

Tricking Grace with the ‘coin going through rubber dam’ trick =]

Cooking up a storm with Mel – Menu: stir fried bok choy in oyster and garlic sauce, creamy chicken and corn soup, rigotti chicken with onion, soft rice and apple and strawberry blended juice (lol ~ okay I made it sound really really nice – but then again it was not too bad, just a little too much food)

Surprisingly remembered how to turn on the hot water heater >>luckily dad told me how to once. Help set up Mel’s hot water system

Getting distracted by tetris with Amanda

Amazingly getting 100% in a flixster Friends quiz lol, haha, nah…all Mel’s doing…she’s a die hard Friends fan!!

Singing along to David Trinh’s very (surprisingly) nice library of songs. Btw…I’ve made up an equation – Eternal Flame + certain person = *melt* (awwww)

Racing Mel in showering…I wasn’t fast enough tho

Pigging out on cookies, chips and juice with Mel then going slightly cukoo and tried to hip hop dance in my room.

Finishing 3 huge bunches of chai sim and bok choi in one meal along with all perishable items in my fridge ~ tremendous effort by mel and I although it seemed like the food in my bowl kept refilling by it self haha.

Procrastination- like what I’m doing now

Thursday nite: planned on doing CPA essay but ended up mucking around with Mel in my room: dancing, karaoke, eating, chatting, piano & bball (at halls), laughing at photos, browsing through both music collections

Meeting Alister (can’t spell his name) at my house, knowing my housemates. Then unknowingly hiding the green beanbag that Alister threw randomly into my room and causing my housemates to attempt to steal it back from Alister’s room at the halls wearing lab coats and sunnies haha.

Silent eating and communication between me and mel in the OHS seminar

A nice afternoon of playing piano and table tennis (had a some nice smash rallies with Nhat, tried to return Yan’s fast serve and I think I played the first page of “That’s why you go away” on piano a billion times lol)

Watching ‘A knight’s tale’ on the train and laughing loudly

My first ever footy match. Went with Sinwa, Karleen, Sam, Michael and Isaac – a very St Kilda game but Essendon did a bit of catch up in 3rd quarter but ended up losing. Owell.
Numerous half hour calls with Mel

Awesome message by Mark Connor on Saturday service (7 deadly sins) and meeting Cat and Jo Cheah (I have seen them in ages) and meeting Sam and Isaac and talking about random stuff

Still procrastinating the clinical practice essay!!

Loving jam session with my bro!

Adren, Grace and I all came wearing our Glenny rugby top at the same time

Discussing names of future kids with Mel (Mel liked Phillip whilst I liked Jacob). There were a few disagreements on good name choices and made heaps of noise in the info tech building

Yan making an April Fools sandwich for Nhat. I think she put in mustard, sweet chilli and wasabi amongst other items. Later, when Nhat ate it, he didn’t give us the response we wanted. He actually ate it and just thought Yan’s sandwich making ability is not that good.

Exchanging slippers/slip-ons with Mel, so we were both wearing ½ of a pair - and waiting for people to realise. Walked past 2 of my housemates – no response. Taking Yan almost to the uni to realise our strange footwear.

Peter Wilson was asking if anyone had done some kind of sanding on the body of a car whilst I drank water from my bottle, making my hand look like it was raised. Everyone was surprised that someone put their hand up and all turned to look at me. I stuttered my mistake and went red lol.

Mel and Yan came over to watch tv, eat watermelon and snacks.

Doing crazy stuff on the track with Yan and Mel, testing our flexibility, dancing, somersaults and cartwheels.

Mucking around with the UV light.

Dismantling and assembling pens in public health

Yan and I putting the rubber dam on the entire mandible in less than 3 mins – killing the patient’s gum in the process.

CU for the first time – it puts into perspective our place in Bendigo and our direction in Christ.

Calling ourselves by our tooth colour/shade - Mel = A2, Me = B2 and Yan = C1

Studied on train to Bendigo (preparing for quiz for oral health). We made a lot of noise shouting teeth sections and parts, I think some people were annoyed. Even when we arrived at Castlemaine, which is where the bulk of the people get on, we were still loud. Haha.

Oral Health Lecture was so-so (a lot of new words to learn and study~) and following that was the quiz that had to be complete between 10:30am and 12pm. Halls people rushed back to Halls, most preparing to do the quiz in groups lol. Yan and I went to Melissa’s room to study and do the quiz. It was pretty hard and demanding for the 10min window we had, asking of you to recall stored information quickly. The results came out soon after and I was slightly disappointed but no worries, there is still the exam ~ of which I will ace (haha). Also, we were mucking around checking out each other’s school ‘rugby tops (or varitations) and talking about high school.

The next few hours was spent trying to play Ken’s guitar, although I broke his string!! Ahhh ~ but his new electric is rad. Also Yan tried to teach me to play the piano using the song “That’s why you go away”. It was a good song to learn but slightly hard so I guess I’ll take patience and persistence, both of which are hard to practise cuz I don’t have a piano in Melb.

Public Health lecture was surprisingly interesting – discussing memory.

After dinner was more piano and bumming

Well, its been kinda a half half holiday mixing study and fun together. Its mostly study in the times that I am not out or whatever. Happenings this week:

Saturday: Pretty much went online and chatted for ages.
Qian and I decided to go to knox to get Esther’s b’day pressie. And I found a little losers bag that was on sale…hehe it matches my t-shirt so, yea…I got it. I kinda needed it anyways (but then its what everyone says when they want to buy something). But I do!!! Lol
Was a tad late for kids church cuz the bus timetable was slightly strange but anyhoo, kids church was fun as always (video, snacks and praise and worship and the vacuuming). After kids church, it was home to study a little bit but got distracted by msn, again. It seems like all the Bendigo kids are always online…I guess we haven’t hit the study pressure yet haha.

Sunday: Went out to lunch with Janice Ho, well, it was more like a takeaway lunch because we both came back to my house to eat the noodle box that we bought. So pretty much chilled and catch-up on things while eating our yummy noodles. Mel was supposed to come over but she had to do packing for her move. So the rest of the night was spent watching movies and eating ice-cream with my bro!! Well, I also sprained my ankle ehh.

Monday: Was a pretty relaxing day actually. Bummed the entire day and did absolutely no study at all.

Tuesday: Woke up extremely late and had little time to prepare for Esther’s b’day and stuff. Caught the bus to Qian’s house but she was still at the city, so walked around Glen Waverley for a bit and saw Helen in the library.
Later, caught up with Qian, went to check out Glenny’s new fountain thingy and we watched Saw 4 at her house. It very confusing, not as good as the previous 3 but I think I have to watch the entire quadruplet again to really understand it. We could finish Saw 4 so we took Qian’s laptop on the bus and finished it on the way to Esther’s house.
Esther’s party was fun, I like her den room. Played bridge, trivia game and caught up with friends (whaaa, so much to talk about!!).

GWSC's new fountain

Wednesday: Did a bit of early morning study before the guys came to watch movies. Isaac, Sam and Michael came over to watch Sweetney Todd. It wasn’t as good as I originally thought, too much singing and a tad too gory (especially when the blood keeps spurting out of people’s throat). I still don’t get why he has to kill so many people ughh.
After that, it was a lovely (not, more like rainy), walk to knox to visit Hungry Jacks. Sam had to fix up his roster and I just went along to talk and disturb my ex-colleagues. They were slightly surprised to see me but most were either busy or new, so I ended up not talking too much (the usual front counter gang wasn’t there awww).
Back to watching movies, ended up watching 30 days of night. It wasn’t that scary and predictable but I like the ending where Josh Hartnett sacrificed himself for his wife and a kid. Isaac’s mum came to pick us up to go to rolleramma.
Rollerblading was fun as well, me haven’t rollerblade in ages. Also went to Josh’s house later , not realising we left his pressie at the place. Whoops. Played a game and ate cake at Josh’s and went home. A few hours later…zzzzz.

Thursday: Study day...permanent dentition overload. Surprised by how much work I got done.

Friday: Woke up early to go buy books from Melbourne Uni…called Melissa to come with me but she was to sleepy. Somehow met Qian on the train and she offered to take me to the Melb Uni bookshop. It was nice of her. Qian’s student union membership entitled her to a 15% discount at the bookshop>>that was a surprise. Thanks Qian.
We walked around Melbourne Uni, wishing badly that I was studying there!! I was supposed to do my clinical placement thingy that day at 2pm but I wen to the wrong place. Who would have know that Whitehorse Rd could be so long and confusing.
So, I ended up having to call the dentist to tell her that I cannot make it. Unfortunately for me, she arranged some interesting patients for me to observe and I wished I could have been there.
Later was our lifegroup social at Jon’s house. The night was spent eating, playing pool, watching movies and tv and just general catch-up.

Saturday: Bumming and 1hr of dental observation (watched a lady getting her dentine covered up).

Sunday: Went to fetch Yan from Knox City after her interesting public transport ride from Melb airport to Knox. We did a bit of work but then got distracted by music and food. It was a pretty relaxing day but then we talked to Nhat on msn and we seriously got an ab workout…too much laughing!! And, as usual, we did our comparing Sydney and Melbourne slang and arguing which one sounds better lol. I contemplated bring my guitar up to Bendigo but it was too bulky. We slept pretty late after a midnight call from Melissa.

Here’s a short quick blog:
Woke up late (hit the snooze button too much) ~ Yan woke me up

Sent Yan off to Southern Cross station to catch the SkyBus to the airport (bye bye Yan)

Mel and I passed a harry potter train look-a-like (A Good Friday Appeal thingy) and decided to check it out. Some camera crew were reporting and asking the captain questions and, being as crazy as we are, we walked back and forth in the background, hoping maybe to be on TV hehe. Went inside and took random pictures and gave to the Good Friday Appeal.

We walked around the Crown Promenade area and decided to have lunch at Crown. KFC was nice but I bought too much and couldn’t finish (owell, there’s always my bro at home ~ tapo!). Passed by the cinema and decided to watch a movie >> The Other Boyeln Girl, but has time to kill before it started. Walked around outside to find ice cream and seriously considered going on the merry-go-round and ended up watching some performer doing painful tricks.

Ran back to the cinema and laughed heaps during the movie (strange movie). I almost cried at the end.

Had to hurry back home to do something so left my stuff at Melissa’s place and took the train back.Went back to Hawthorn with my bro at about 9pm to get my stuff ~

Early Prac classes…make dental moulds, as always. And also secretly ate Yan’s crunch chocolate and rolling around on chairs on extremely smooth dental lab floors.

After lunch, tried to read the set articles but ended up mucking around (as always)

Public health tute was pretty interesting. At first we did some mensa test thingy to test our so called intelligence. I got a couple wrong but surprisingly got some special things quickly. But then someone else (I forgot who) got only one wrong ~ yikes! Then we had to develop an argument that is FOR the separation of mentally challenged and the so-called ‘normal’ children. I ended up making the presentation for our group…I reckon we so won hehe.

Planning to take the later train, we took our time walking back to the halls but then Yan realised that she didn’t have to take a long time to pack her Easter holidays things and ended up taking the 4 sumthing train with virtually the rest of the dentistry crowd. We took the cab and met up with them at the station, and rushed onto the Melbourne bound train. Luckily we got the “good” 4 seater seats with Ki. Ended up being a pretty fun ride back to Melbourne: listening to iPod, taking random photos and laughing as always.

Yan and I were spending the night at Mel’s city apartment so we said our goodbyes to Grace and Damian at Southern Cross and took the train to Hawthorn. Mel’s apartment is really nice but kinda messy, as she pre-warned us, but then again, me and my bro get pretty messy when parent head for holidays so I wasn’t that surprised. Yan and I explored the apartment and we looked at Melissa’s childhood pictures. She has this awesome changing colour echidna thingy and we stared at it for ages, watching the sequential colour changes and pointing out which colour was our favourite.

Later, we went out to eat. Melissa wanted to show us this cool Japanese restaurant but it happened to be closed. So the last resort was Maccas. Also went junk food and snack shopping at IGA for our movie night. We wanted Yan to see “The Notebook” as she’s never seen it before. She slept about 1/3 of the way thru, Mel and I stayed awake until nearly the end. I guess we were all tired from the day. Yan and I ended up sleeping on the sofa-couch, and telling each other to not press the snooze button the next morning cuz Yan cannot miss her flight to Sydney.

Woke up with splitting headache and didn’t feel like going to clinical practice lecture…it sounded boring anyways.

More attempts at completing assessment

Played with the manikins in clinical practice prac session. Had so much fun, using all the tools that a normal dentist uses, except for the drill. Had a little too much fun spraying each other with water and using the air sprayer for “other” purposes. I really like this course now, the prac part is soo much fun. The dummies are extremely funny; especially when they can do things that a normal patient can’t, like spin head 360 degrees and open mouth super wide!! It was sad to leave such a fun class.

Waited for public health lecture and got tempted by ice-cream again (Milo)

Public health lecture survived by not listening and playing random paper games

Had a surprise party for Grace – oh sweet 20th Grace!! It wasn’t a surprise after all but it was still fun. The cake was yummy (tiramisu cake) and we gave Grace a t-shirt vest thingy with a belt. It was a nice moment. The guys played pool for a while and the girls played cards. I got kinda bored and hungry so ate random biscuits in my room with Melissa and talking about veges and their direct chinese-english meaning; Everyone wanted to leave early cuz of assessment to complete.

(photos thanks to Yan)

Took me ages to complete assessment cuz I went about it the wrong way, had to start question 3 again.

Slept late again.

I cbs writing so much so dot points here I come:

  • Early morning run…didn’t time correctly, ended up showering late and had to run all the way to uni. Couldn’t find the room.
  • Kept yawning during tute and making Mel yawn after me, hehe
  • Tried to complete psych prac…kept getting distracted and procrastinating
  • Walked to Dental Science lecture…in nice new room!! But Peter Wilson kept going on about course structure and ended up not doing his original lecture…yay!!
  • Tried to do more psych, can’t. Running again after dinner…then me and Melissa went to “room beside dining hall” to muck around (i.e. random sit-ups and running around like idiots). Talked to Sarah, Harri and Henry who were trying to study.
  • Spent the night dancing, playing the air guitar and finishing question 2 for assessment.

Walked to the station (about 25mins) to meet Melissa and went to uni together. We were both really sleepy and could hardly keep our eyes open but Yan sitting next to me was awake and actually taking in the lecture. They both came over to study, which went okay for a while but we got distracted easily. Hunger came upon us and we decided to grab some food from the halls. After lunch we could not focus and chatted for ages.

Later, Yan wanted to go to the public health lecture but I didn’t cuz it was too hot and Melissa had a house inspection to attend. We persuaded Yan to stay and not go promising that we would do work. However, we didn’t get any work done, its mostly because we didn’t understand it, and ended up forgetting about Melissa’s house inspection…sigh. So, being off task already, we proceeded to muck around, playing spit (the card game) and Melissa chucking cards while I caught them. Also we had an arm wrestling contest…my right arm is strong but my left is useless.

I had dinner at the halls…chicken parma dish, it was quite nice I reckon. Melissa and Yan had CC and later we went for a run, 5 laps up and down the street. Also went to listen to Nhat play the piano, he’s a super pro being able to sight-read and play. He taught me how to play “You are my sunshine” on the piano, which was cool. We decided to continue studying and after a short shower, Nhat, Melissa and Yan came over to ‘study’. The beginning was fine but later we all could not be bothered studying and ended up just talking. They left at about 2am. Sigh…the uni experience.

Melissa left early as did me and Yan for the First Aid course. Once again the 1st aid room was boiling and I couldn’t stay awake cuz of the late night. The lecturer kinda asked me random questions which I couldn’t answer cuz I was sooo sleepy. Lunch at Grace’s orde house, except I bought my meat pie and just had to warm it up. I just passed the test, and am now have a level 2 in first aid, haha…I hope that I can use it someday.

Yan came back to my house to study. Quite effective studying session as we were concentrating. Dinner follow and we did more study after that. I reckon studying in groups is really helpful as we used our dentition model to help us. I got a 47/50 for my assessment and thought it was good until I found out most people got 48 and 49 and some got 50’s. We also looked through our photos, and laughed ourselves to death. Later walked back to Mills Halls to keep Yan company, hmmm, haha.

We both did something really bad and crappy to someone else. I so wasn’t thinking when I did it and later that night I felt so bad. I thought it was okay at the time but then when the person found out I felt like the worst friend ever. If she’s reading this right now, I am sooo sorry, that was really immature and I didn’t consider the possible consequences of my actions. I didn’t sleep much that night, about 2 hours, coz I had the guilt feeling and was crying badly. Later, the person forgave me and that made me think. The ones that are really your friend are the ones that easily forgive and forget even when you stuff up badly. I am so grateful that I have that person as a friend and once again, I am really sorry, and I’m glad things between us are fine now.

Woke up by a knock on my window, I guess I hit the snooze button too many times. Halls people woke me up and we nice to wait for me while I changed etc.

First Aid: It was sooo boring. It was pretty much common sense with addition info. I guess I did learn a few things, but Damian said that he’ll probably let someone else do the CPR haha. The room was boiling hot and the guy kept going on about all his work related incidents, it seems like he’s broken so many bones in his body. CPR was pretty fun, especially when you push air into the dummy’s mouth and its chest rose, haha. Went to Grace’s orde house for lunch. We cook and ate noodles and also ice cream >> all thanks to Grace for providing the lunch. The afternoon session was more interesting as we were taught how to use the triangular bandage. Here are some pics:

Melissa and Yan came over for a while and mucked around, after playing with e-yore (aiya, i can't spell) and froggie at Yan's lol.

Henry’s House: The ‘gang’ decided to cook and eat dinner at Henry’s house, as the halls don’t supply food for the weekend. When us three got there, Sarah already began cooking. So as she and Radika were cooking, Melissa, Damian and I were using Yan’s Nitendo DS to play random games. Cooking mama provided lots of laugh especially when I started blowing into the microphone, both of them didn’t believe that the screen said to blow into the mic. Damian also kept killing the patient in the ‘operation’ game.

After eating (the food was yummy), we all played spin the bottle, mafia and poker. But before then, me and Melissa had our water dunking again. My clothes got very wet, and I hurt myself when I crashed into the tree, got heaps of scratches on my arm. When we got inside I think everyone thought we were crazy. Spin the bottle was fun but it quickly got personal lol. There were many glances and laughs when the bottle stopped at certain people.

Mafia was okay but Melissa and I lost all our chips in the second round of poker when we decided to bluff Ken and Grace. I think we pushed it too far and they didn’t believe us. Owell, when we got out, we had cookies and cream ice cream cravings. So we decided to use Henry’s blender to blend vanilla and choc ice cream with biscuits. The problem was that there were no biscuits and we ended up making milo ice cream, which was surprisingly nice. Later, all of us walked Gracey home and on the way we took a photo of us laying on the road (like the scene from ‘the notebook’, except without traffic lights). Later we played a few games of bridge before heading off home.

As Melissa was going back to Melbourne the following day and her room was boiling, she decided to sleep over. The next day, I told Ken about Melissa’s sleepover but it came out like this “Melissa was feeling hot so she came to sleep with me” lol. I didn’t realise how bad the sentence sounded. After we both watched the middle 1/3 of Chuck and Larry (we can never seem to finish the movie!!), we decided to muck around on the internet. And we ended up talking to Ken for ages on msn, we decided to call it quits at about 4am. Later, we chatted on random things and decided to sleep but could because we kept randomly hitting each other with pillow and ended up having some sort of pillow fight. Finally went to sleep at about 5am.
